For those who aren't familiar with what is meant by looking through
the turn, this may give you a little better understanding. I shot
this video while riding through Virginia on my way home from North
Carolina. Notice how I look into the turn before I begin the lean
and I slow down prior to entering the turn and roll on the throttle
as I enter the turn. (Look, Lean and Roll)
Thanks for posting this very helpful (and beautiful) video! This
should help other riders get a better feel for looking through the
curves as they ride! Looks like you had a GREAT trip!! How many
miles did you say you have on that beautiful (new) Goldwing????
I now have 2,600 miles. I was going to do the 9/11 ride next week,
but unfortunately that isn't going to happen. I'm thinking of doing
a long 500 mile or so ride on Saturday instead.
Great video, VTXRon! Much clearer when you can "see" the look,
lean, and roll method. Thank you for the gorgeous ride! It's so
blasted hot, buggy, and wet here this summer that riding has been
severely restricted. At least I got the opportunity to take a
wonderful ride with you while sitting in air conditioning and
learning a great deal at the same time!
Nice video, Smooth bike, quiet but powerful and handles well. What
more could you want?
One thing more to watch out for one those type roads is the
critters that may come darting out in front of you unexpectedly. In
my neck of the woods, that's deer, wild pigs, dogs, armadillos, big
birds and snakes, and even small children, to name a few. Be on the
lookout, anyone of them came mess up your day, and your bike.
