  I can't emphasize this enough! I recently ran out of gas on the highway. I had been riding for a couple of years prior to my 20 year sebaticle(sic). I had purchased a beautiful V-Star 1100 and put about 6,000 miles on her in a 9 month period. Yes, I've been for a ride! I had completely forgotten about the reserve setting. I ran out of gas and was caught between a concrete barrier and the main 70mph highway lane at 10pm! I was scared shitless! I called 9-11 and they hung up on me 3x because they wanted me to "calm down" (??!!)
  
  Let me tell you folks...LEARN THIS! It can save yours, and someone elses life.
  
  Yes, I'll admit...I'm a dumbass....but at least I learned.
